On this site you can look at the results of the work of Ankie Zeddeman. She was a creative person who started to make dolls many years ago. During this time she made well over hundred beautiful dolls.

We are sorry to say that Ankie unexpectedly died on February 29th 2008 as the result of a heart failure at the age of 65. Her memory lives on in the many dolls she made.


Ankie made different types of dolls. Fantasy dolls that came entirely out of her rich imagination: elves, devils, little mice... But she also made realistic dolls, character dolls representing mainly old people. Very wel known are here "lace making women", that found their way to people from all over the world. Today these little dolls can still be found in Brussels in the lace shop "La Manufacture des Dentelles", in the Galerie de la Reine, close to the "Grand Place".
All dolls are made entirely by hand. Even dolls who, at first site, look alike, are always somewhat different. Different faces, different facial expressions, in short, each doll has its own personality. Each doll is the result of hours of hard work, for some of the larger pieces Ankie needed over 200 hours to get the results she wanted.
